Challenges of high-elevation bird species in a changing world

Alpenbraunelle FK

We study how the environment, in particular climate warming, infrastructure pressure and increasing touristic activity, affects survival and reproduction of alpine bird species. We use meta-analyses and mathematical modelling based on data from literature, and we analyse archive data. We complement the knowledge by own field studies. The project aims at mapping species-specific survival and reproduction in space and time. The maps will be used for spatial prioritisation in conservation.
